Every believer eventually faces the same quiet moment: alone with an open Bible, unsure what to do next. For the newborn believer, that moment can arrive within days of coming to faith — someone hands them a Bible, tells them it is living and active, and then leaves them to figure out what that means at ten o’clock on a Tuesday night with sixty-six books and no map. For the seasoned believer, that moment often arrives more slowly, disguised as busyness — a season of caregiving, a demanding job, a family crisis — until one day they realize months have passed since they opened Scripture for anything other than a sermon reference.

This teaching is written directly to both of those people, because we believe the solution is the same for each: a simple, repeatable method for studying God’s Word, and a tool built to make that method accessible to anyone willing to begin.

We will move through six areas: naming the fear that keeps new believers from starting at all; addressing the drift that quietly separates seasoned believers from a Bible they once loved; introducing the Thompson Chain Reference Bible and how its system actually works; walking step by step through following a chain reference on a real topic; building a sustainable daily rhythm rather than a one-time burst of enthusiasm; and finally, remembering that the entire purpose of all of this is not accumulating information but growing in relationship with God Himself.

Each chapter carries the same tools you may recognize from our other studies — a word study from the original language, Scripture in both the King James and Amplified translations, reflection questions, a practical application exercise, and a closing prayer — because learning to study Scripture, like any relationship, is not accomplished in a single sitting. It is a practice.

The goal was never to make you an expert in a book. The goal is to help you fall in love, again or for the first time, with the God who wrote it.
