Beyond Maintenance
Peter and John didn’t walk past the beggar at the Beautiful Gate. They didn’t toss him a coin and keep moving. They stopped. They looked him in the eye. We measure success not by how many people we help survive today, but by how many no longer need rescue tomorrow. Relief that never ends dependency isn’t compassion — it’s a slower form of the same problem. We work ourselves out of a job in every community we serve.
3. Sequenced Impact
Bread first, then the Bread of Life. Wells of water, then Living Water. We meet physical needs alongside the Gospel that changes everything — because hunger and hopelessness are neighbors, and we don’t get to choose which one we answer.
