There is a version of you that only God sees — the one that keeps score, that replays the moment someone else got the credit. This is the silent battle of our generation: performed humility. We have learned to bow our heads without ever bowing our will.

2. The Divine Perspective & Biblical Examples
"Who, being in the form of God… made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant… he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
“Made himself of no reputation” is the Greek ekenosen, from kenoo — “to empty.” True humility is not the absence of power; it is power, fully possessed, voluntarily restrained.
Example 1 — Jesus Christ: In John 13, at the moment He held the most visible authority He had ever held on earth, He knelt and washed the disciples’ feet — including Judas’, who would betray Him that night.
Example 2 — King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4): Every verb first-person, no acknowledgment of God — until “the kingdom is departed from thee.”
