The Heritage
Zimbabwe is named for the great stone houses of her ancestors — dzimba dza mabwe, houses built of stone. Her churches have lived up to the name: through years of hardship, Zimbabwean believers have held their worship, their generosity, and their hope with unshakable dignity.
Jerome Jones Ministries stands in covenant with the church of Zimbabwe — honoring her endurance, resourcing her pastors and teachers, and praying the psalm over her: God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved.
The Covenant Artifact — The Soapstone Bird
The soapstone bird of Great Zimbabwe — carved a thousand years ago and still standing, the emblem of a nation whose very name means house of stone. Stones endure. So does the church built on the Stone.
The Fruit We Pray For
Zimbabwe’s church has taught the region what longsuffering looks like: worship that outlasts want, and hope that outlasts the news cycle. We pray for her to remain unmoved — rooted in the house of stone and the Stone the builders rejected — until God’s purposes in her are fully built.
